Privacy Policy

1. Information we do not collect

PromptDB is local-first. We do not collect prompts, templates, accounts, analytics, keystrokes, clipboard data, or third-party tracking.

• Your prompt text is never sent to PromptDB or any third party.
• You do not need an email, password, or account to use the extension.
• We do not log searches or capture clipboard data outside explicit paste actions.
• The extension does not embed analytics or advertising SDKs.

2. Local storage

PromptDB uses Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. Data stays in your browser. Uninstalling PromptDB or clearing browser data removes it. You can export your library anytime as JSON from the side panel.

3. Optional Google Drive backup

If you enable backup, PromptDB connects to your own Google Drive via official OAuth and only uses the app data folder. We cannot read other Drive files. Credentials and tokens never go to PromptDB servers.

4. Browser permissions

PromptDB follows Manifest V3. Permissions are used only as follows:

• storage — save prompts, tags, folders, and settings on your device.
• sidePanel — show PromptDB next to your current tab.
• activeTab / scripting — insert a prompt when you paste or type "/".

5. Third-party AI platforms

When you paste or open prompts in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok, those products' own privacy policies apply.
